The PlayStation 4 development kits are in the hands of studios looking to create new games for the upcoming console, and one of those kits has apparently fallen into the hands of someone willing to share. According to Kotaku, who claim to have gotten their hands on a 90 page document that plays companion to the PS4 dev-kit, the new console will be considerably different than the PS3. While it’s expect that the PS4 will a much more powerful machine than it’s predecessor, the new controller for the console will feature a touchscreen.

According to the document, the PS4 development kit contains 8GB of system memory, 2.2GB of video memory, a 4x Dual-Core AMD64 “Bulldozer” CPU, a Blu-Ray Drive, 160 GB HDD, 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet ports, and HDMI and optical audio outputs.

Kotaku claims that the “Orbis” name has stuck as the codename for the development tools, and the new controller for the console seems to be the most drastic change in direction for the console. The development version of the new controller is said to still have the face buttons, two thumbsticks, and shoulder triggers, but features a rear touch pad like the one found on the PS Vita, and can be used as an additional input.

Right now it’s hard to tell if these are rumors, or specifications that will actually arrive when the PS4 does, but we’re beginning to hear rumors about the new console that are echoing from numerous sources.
