Rocket League Tops PlayStation Store in 2016

The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season 3 World Championships are heading to Los Angeles on June 2nd to the 4th. This is a return to LA for the series, which had its first season closer there back in August of 2016. The RLCS has been going for a few weeks now and teams are currently vying for the top spots to be included in this local multiplayer session which will determine the winners of the massive $300,000 prize pool.

“After bringing down the house in Amsterdam last December, the Rocket League Championship Series Season 3 World Championship is going back to Cali from June 2-4,” announced Rocket League developer Psyonix. “Taking place at the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles over an unprecedented three days, the Season 3 World Championship will be our biggest event to date, starting with the inclusion of two teams from our brand-new RLCS Oceania region. A total of ten teams will be battling for the lion’s share of our largest-ever $300,000 total prize pool!”

Fans will be able to get in on the action, with tickets going on sale April 17th to attend the event live in LA. Pricing and other details should be available soon, so check back for more later next week. For those not in the LA area, the entire event will be streamed live on the official Rocket League Twitch channel, so you can always join in that way. There are also RLCS events going on now, so watch that Twitch channel this weekend.

Rocket League has propelled itself from a relatively unknown IP to one of the biggest games in the world. Its eSports tournaments have also grown in size and scope, with the RLCS becoming a big draw for fans. Psyonix is supporting this heavily, so expect even bigger things with RLCS Season 4 once this tournament concludes in June.
