Project CARS 2 Officially Announced for Late 2017 Release

| @Konman72 | 9 months ago

Project CARS 2 was sort of announced a long time ago. Shortly after the release of the first game, developer Slightly Mad launched a new Kickstarter seeking funds for the potential sequel. That didn’t sit well with the gaming community though, so the game was put on the back burner, with few mentions over the next couple of years. Now we have the first official word on the game though, with Slightly Mad and Bandai Namco Entertainment officially revealing the Project CARS 2 Announcement Trailer.

The official announcement reads “Project CARS 2 is the next evolution in the award-winning racing series, featuring the most iconic cars under the most thrilling of conditions to deliver the “Ultimate Driver Journey” experience and adrenaline rush.”

Project CARS 2 is scheduled for a late 2017 release date for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This means the game must be pretty far into development, with just under ten months left in the year. It’s already looking great, with the trailer easily impressing in the graphics department.

But the gameplay seems to be a focus for the team as well, with additions and improvements over the original Project CARS. These include over 170 licensed cars, the largest track selection of any console racer, dynamic time and weather systems, full VR support and up to 12K resolution. “Project CARS 2 features the widest variety of motorsports now including Rallycross and IndyCar. Race without boundaries with any car across varying track surfaces and dynamic environmental conditions, including ice, tarmac, gravel, mud or dirt. Day or night, wet or dry.”

While the original Project CARS had some issues upon its initial release, it has since become a definite favorite among racing game fans. Project CARS 2 looks like a major evolution of the first game’s systems and mechanics, so get ready to check it out when it hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC in late 2017.
