For Honor Holds the Top in UK Charts From Halo Wars 2

| @JoseBelmonte | 7 months ago

Ubisoft’s For Honor remains at top of the UK All Formats list for a second week in a row, holding new release Halo Wars 2 off the top position. However, the Halo spin off did take the first place in the Individual Formats list. Sales-wise it is expected to perform worse than the original entry released in 2009.

Available on Xbox One and PC, Halo Wars 2 is an RTS that preserves and expands the experience of the first entry despite the change in the development team. Story-wise is a direct sequel of the original game, taking place after the events seen in Halo 5: Guardians. On the gameplay front, the game offers a deeper experience, with battles of a larger scale than the original.

Strategy games don’t use to have the same appeal as other genres, so a number 2 placement seems fine for the title. But on the other hand, undisclosed reports indicate that the game is performing significantly worse than the original Halo Wars, which debuted also at number 2 with 65.000 copies in 2009.

Last week’s highest entry For Honor holds the top position in the All Formats list despite dropping a steep 72% in sales. That is still in line with other big releases, and Ubisoft hopes that the title will remain one of the most relevant multiplayer games in the coming months. In the Individual Formats list the PS4 and Xbox One versions take numbers 2 and 3, respectively.

The other new entry from last week, Sniper Elite 4, drops a 64% in sales, placing at number 5 in the All Formats. In the Individual list, the PS4 version hangs at number 7, while the one for Xbox One drops to number 15.

Next week we will get the results of one of the biggest showdowns of the year, with PS4 exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn will releasing at the same time than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is also the main launch title of Nintendo Switch. Breath of the Wild is expected to take the top, although both of them are set to make excellent numbers.
